Electronic Design based its “Top 100 Employers in Electronic Design” list on design influence, hiring patterns, rich patent and IP portfolios and substantial R&D budgets. The magazine used public sources to compare companies along with reader surveys on career satisfaction. “The corporate culture at National Instruments makes the company a top employer in electronic design,” said Mark David, editor-in-chief of Electronic Design. “With the many honors and awards the company has accrued through the years, I cannot think of another company that has apparent higher job satisfaction among employees than National Instruments.” Electronic Design cites the company‘s emphasis on career development, including the Engineering Leadership Program （ELP）, in which about half of new NI employees participate, as a key to its success.
