The 2007 World’s Most Ethical Companies ranking is conducted by the Ethisphere Council, which examined 5,000 companies in 30 different industries across the globe. The council includes general counsels and compliance, ethics, legal and finance professionals committed to excellent corporate governance. Council members interviewed corporate executive officers in a variety of industries, including industrial manufacturing, in which Danfoss was recognized. The interviews comprised an eight-step information gathering process that covered topics such as Litigation and Controversy/Conflict, Innovation and Industry Leadership, Corporate Citizenship and Governance and Transparency. Once the council collected the information, companies were scored relative to their industry peers on nine separate criteria to determine their true ethical leadership.
